@joe035 I come from a country that elected, by American standards, very liberal governments until recently. You might consider President Obama a liberal. In Canada, he would be a conservative. And we have a lunatic fringe who can match even your most rabid pundits.
We are proudly liberal, although typical for Canadians, we call ourselves “middle-of-the-road”, However, very, very few of us want to control the freedom of honest dissidence. We are a democracy.

We have liberals in this counrty that once again want to control what it is we hear in not just commentary but the news, fairness doctrine. They say it is to stop the popularity of one political parties views from being heard more then anothers. If the majority of people cared enough to listen to liberals there would be more radio stations with them on.

Actually, it is well established within the law of the U.S. and Canada that there are limits to free speech. For example, you are not allowed to say things that could result in people being hurt i.e. yelling “Fire!” in a movie theatre.
You cannot directly incite violence i.e. “I urge you to get a gun and shoot the mayor/governor/neighbor.
Ann Coulter gets very close to inciting violence against Muslims, Arabs and others. In my country that is an abuse of free speech.

@allahtheserpent Inciting hatred is not amusing, saying whatever will make you famous regardless of who it hurts is not amusing. She abuses the right of free speech to appeal to the basest instincts of people. And nothing you, or any of her other apologists, can say will change my opinion of her. Only she can change my opinion by toning down her rhetoric and vitriol. If you have to be that incendiary, your arguments must be pretty thin.
