Will Speech&Debate be a good thing on a college application?
Will joining Speech and Debate be a good thing on a college application? or it doesn’t matter if you join the club or not? (I’m talking about speech and debate CLUB not class!) I go to lynbrook high, in california if you’re wondering. So does joining the speech and debate club increase chances of getting into a desired collge/university?
Yes, then you are also prepared for the many speeches you will have to give while you are in college. Its good to have clubs on your application, but dont feel you have to join every single one. Colleges prefer a student who was in one club all 4 years of highschool that they were passionate about rather than a student that joined every club they could for whatever reason.
club? probably not help a whole lot. If you were part of the debate team, and were good, then yes.
Speech/debate will help you out far more personally than anything else though. Independent of college, you should take it.
