thank you for the post. Dr Martin was one of my professors in my college years. His love for the lost again stirs my heart . I would say that Spongs sexual preference….his choice, has greatly skewed his ability to discern Truth. “A fierce person is often in beauty’s dress” The only way he can defend his homosexuality is to deviate , which is all the double talk in this entire debate

ChristHeartEternal….. ARE YOU SERIOUS? You talk about Bishop Spong’s voice being painful? His voice and manner of delivery is very easy to listen to…. and he is a very patient man. Dr. Martin is much more difficult to listen to by far. Not only his actual voice harsh, but he speaks in a very condescending manner. I could not imagine getting spiritual counseling from that man.

whos science? There is data pro and con the bible. Science proves and disproves a lot of things and disproves itself so to rely on it as final authority is fallacy. and your truth will change the minute the “data” finds something else. The bible is the infallable word of God now wether or not u want to accept this is a matter of your own opinion but the fact remains God gave his word to us to follow. Hmmm, I recon Bishop Spong should (and I now think does) take the bible less seriously. It was a book written by fallible people. Got allot of things wrong and was a product of it’s time. If it has anything at all to do with god it was subjective and heavily filtered by interpretation. Why defend it at all. Just on science alone it fails the test (Garden of Eden, The world wide flood, etc were myths). This infallibility thing is just silly
