    Luther not only removed those 7 books from the Old Testament, but also declared Hebrews, James, Jude, and Revelation as “less-canonical” and moved them to the back of his Bible.

    How could he be so right in removing the 7 books from the OT, yet deny the authenticity of those 4 other NT books?

    The church has no official position on Mary being co-redeemer. But, most Catholics believe it because when we say “co-redeemer”, we mean she cooperated with God’s plan to redeem humanity by agreeing to bear Christ (Luke 1:38). We are all similarly called to be co-redeemers with the one true redeemer. The “co” does not mean equal to; the “co” means with.

    Now this is interesting. I don’t agree, but let’s look at what you’re saying. When I stand before God, if I truthfully say to Him, “Lord, I place my faith in you alone as my one savior. When I knelt before that statue of Mary, you were reading my heart, so you know that I was not worshipping her but expecting that we would share our prayers together to you.” Would my FAITH be enough?

    I’ll agree to that. But let’s clarify what a monstrance is. A monstrance is a display that holds the eucharist–the piece of communion that becomes Christ. The scriptures I quoted attest to that.

    Of course I find the birth and death of Jesus as significant. But to celebrate those occurances on pagan holidays (Christmas=Saturnalia and Easter=Ishtar or Astarte) is strictly forbidden in the book of Jeremiah where God COMMANDS not to take on the ways of the HEATHEN.

    The six books not recognized in Protestant books? I notice you didn’t answer billjkahn’s question about what books were included in the first edition of the King James Bible. The answer is: all of them. The original King James Bible included all of the books recognized by the Catholic Church.

    How do you know that all of the books in your Bible are inspired by God, and that none of the inspired books were left out?

    They’re celebrations about specific important tenets of our faith. Do you deny that it was significant that God was BORN, taking the form of a vulnerable human? Do you deny that it was significant that God, after being crucified, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven? I doubt you do. Why would you not celebrate it?

    The monstrance holds Jesus Christ through the eucharist host; that is why we bow before it.

    John 6:35-66. The Jews doubt they can eat Jesus in 6:52. In 6:66, they leave because they cannot believe it.

    Paul agrees. 1 Corinthians 11:27,29. The first Christians agreed. Martin Luther agreed (though he had a mistaken understanding of it) and argued with Calvin about it.

    Paul called himself the father of his believers in several, SEVERAL verses. You could google search this, but the best example is 1 Corinthians 4:14-15: “For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.”

    Paul became a father only through his teachings in Christ Jesus, not by his own merit. So do priests.

    Catholics don’t worship statues; you can read our catechism or any other document to verify that. We join in prayer with these saints in heaven, and the statues work as focus images (like photographs of loved ones). It is based on the believe that a person is still allowed to pray for others after entering heaven. Scripture never implies otherwise.

    She is co-redemptrix in that she prays for our salvation, as do all saints in heaven, as should believers on earth. You and I are also called to be co-redeemers through our prayer.

NO PROPHECY OF SCRIPTURE IS MADE BY PRIVATE INTERPRETATION..(2Pet 3:16) Ask Protestants where the Bible came from? When was it codified? What books were included in the first edition of the King James Bible? If Protestants would lose their prejudice against Catholics and study the History of the Catholic Church which can be traced back to Christ maybe then they will know the truth

    You are saved By Grace through Faith….And Not a Faith that you are the author of But a Faith that Jesus is the author of. You are saved Justified once and for all by the Blood of Christ through the Cross alone. You are continually sanctified in your walk.
    The mixing of the Power of the Cross with the man made works for Salvation Nullifies the Power of the Cross.
    When you are Born again you produce fruits for Christ is in you. These fruits do not add to your salvation or keep it.
