What are the 5 best Debate Topics?
Hey, so for my writing class I need to have picked a debate topic by February 4, 2009. So what would be the best 5 debate topics that would have enough information to write an essay about?
abortion – legality
gay marriage – is banning it essentially creating a theocracy? [it's religious views that would stop it from being true, and we are supposed to have a separation of church and state]
censorship – journalists are barred from reporting in many areas of Iraq. Is this the government trying to keep the army safe by stopping sensitive details from getting out, or censorship because they are violating the first amendment and could be doing illegal things
Genetically modified foods – is it safe to have g.m foods so widely spread? what if it helps end hunger?
PETA – Their ads and techniques for garnering attention are generally very sexist. Are members of PETA degrading women in attempts to help animals? Is this ethical?
