    Government by the people and for the people does not mean a government that controls people. Mr. Reagan I miss you and wish there was someone like you around now. The modern day socialist (liberal) has taken power of the greatest country on earth and somehow believes that a collective few in DC know better than everyone else and should tell the citizens of this country how they should spend their money and who should get it’s benefit.

    Well, this video clearly illustrates how far off the rails this country has come, by electing this Chicago community agitator into the highest office in the land. Reagan loved and understood what makes this country so great. Obama has disdain for the U.S.A. and its Constitution. Decades ago, Reagan knew of the Obama-types that were out there. Many of the people that voted for Obama didn’t have Reagan’s vision and understanding of socialism, but they are now beginning to wake up.

    I more than know what socialism happens to be. Fact of the matter is health care reform is not socialism as many have been led to believe. Because the fact of the matter is if one believes health care reform qualifies as socialism, then what I said about airports, roads, water etc etc, holds true as falling in that same belief as being socialism. Because all those things are controlled by government and were built by taking money from the people and redistributing it.

    Socialism is gov’t control of the production of goods and services. Plain and simple. A variant of socialism includes collectivization, the practice of “economic equality” or, more clearly, redistribution of wealth. I don’ t think anybody who derides socialism is calling for the bulldozing of the FDA, EPA or local fire departments. All they want is for gov’t to leave them alone as much as possible.

    I think your comparing a few presidential years apart. It was carter that had gas lines, food was outrageous under him and regan brought it all back down to something manageable. Look at the carter brought on us with his economics.

    It is this so called socialism that paid for and built the roads, built and maintains every major commercial airport in this country, builds and maintains the Interstate system for easy transportation of people and goods, insures that people have clean drinking water in their homes, enabled the railroad industry to be built as well as just about every other major industry in this country.

    Without so called socialism there would be no running water in homes, no airports, no airline industry, no railroad system, no roads, no transportation of goods for industry as we know it hence meaning no Walmarts, no Targets no Exxons, no American Airlines, no going to the store at a whim and getting anything we need or want. LIfe and industry and we currently know it would cease to function without so called socialism.

    But… Remember what Reagan was railing about in his radio address. Medicare.. So if you’re over 65 go ahead and price out what it would cost you for private health insurance and you might just come to realize how wrong Reagan was on that issue.

    But hey… I voted for Reagan AND I voted for Obama. Hmmmm… What has changed? Not me, but the conservative movement.
