Toledo debates red light ticket funds

Toledo is hoping to get more money out of motorists who get red light camera tickets.

City Council’s committee of the whole met Thursday morning to talk about the issue.

Councilman D. Michael Collins wants the contract with RedFlex Group, the company who sends out the tickets, renegotiated.

Collins said that if the Glass City takes on more responsibility in going after drivers who have outstanding tickets, Toledo could get 75-percent of the money. RedFlex would get 25-percent.

Presently, Toledo receives 54-percent of red light money.
