If it is, it is only up to a point. It sets up an excellent dynamic, for healthy debate,
and then it goes and spoils it, with it’s ridiculous system of reporting/violations for things like "chatting???" and saying things that as few as 2 people can have removed, should they disagree with the poster. This aspect of it all spoils what would otherwise be an excellent site.

I do appreciate it, and what keeps me coming back is not the fact that someone agrees with my replies or questions (I haven’t asked that many questions to be honest).

What I tend to appreciate the most is the difference in opinion to any given subject. At the end of the day it is not about being right, but the ability to accept other people’s point of view and being able to debate freely. I would be a fool not to admit that I have learnt a thing or two just by being here.

What I do detest however, are the troll who resort to sustained personal attacks on others just because they are incapable of accepting other people’s opinions no matter how controversial they may seem at the time. I also detest those who participate in clan warfare with a purpose of simply gaining points just for the hell of it.

I enjoy being able to voice my opinions whether I agree with the question or not. As long as debate does not become abusive I enjoy YA. I do get annoyed when people leave silly posts as this is not what serious questions are posed for. Find it great fun & informative, brilliant to read other peoples views.

Well, I think it’s nice that you can ask a question and hundreds, even thousands of people can see it and answer it if they wish. It is funny to read the debate ones, though!

It depends on the other person really.

If they are rational and nice about it then it sucks because you have to be proper and whatnot. But when the other person is a complete idiot, it’s fun being able to insult them and their ideas.

In other words, it sucks debating with friends but it’s fun as hell debating with your enemies.
