How to debate a creationist?

My 2 cents on how to debate a creationist. Some people would insist you should know your science first before debating a creationist, well I do agree, but you can still win just by demanding empirical evidence for a creation.

    Oh I am well aware about that verse. But remember, this is coming from a society who views of a flat earth, even preached by the first church fathers. Visions were often taken seriously, such as Paul only saw jesus in a vision.
    It also shows that much of the content of the Bible is mostly fiction.

    I’d like to see that tactic applied. If you know of videos of debates that went that way, please post video titles of IDs. But I’d be careful about the Daniel quote. I looked it up out of curiosity. Turns out that that stuff happened in a dream.

    Creationist – *makes a single sound, not even a word yet*

    Me – Wrong

    I win because whatever they were going to say is wrong

    ahh, you gotta love that argument. It already shows you have the high ground when it comes to science.

    @Feredir28 Yeah …
    @Feredir28 Yeah true. It will come down to that or, ‘it’s in the bible’ but it probably is a better tactic in the long run than arguing against ‘evolution is only a theory’ .

    We …

    @AuntieDiluvian
    We know the universe could come about through naturalistic ways, but saying “look at that” is not evidence or even scientific. Just looking and picking is not testing, nor does it show how the universe came into being.

    “X, Y, Z looks created” could have been created by elves, but just saying ‘look around’ provides no empirical evidence, just assumptions and wishful thinking.

    I think when I say, …
    I think when I say, ‘prove creation’ I’m going to get a lot of ‘well, look around you, at the wonders of the universe’.

    ”the Jatravartid people of Viltvodle VI believe that the
    entire Universe was in fact sneezed out of the nose of a being
    called the Great Green Arkleseizure.”

    The Jatravartids, who live in perpetual fear of the time they
    call The Coming of The Great White Handkerchief, are small blue
    creatures with more than fifty arms each, who are therefore
    unique in being the only race in history to have invented the
    aerosol deodorant before the wheel.
