The Dr. Phil “N-Word” Debate: Part 4

This is Part 4 of the Dr. Phil Episode where Dr. Phil, along with Best-Selling Author Hill Harper, Reverend Al Sharpton (VIA Satellite), Conservative radio talk show host Michael Graham and Comedians Cheryl Underwood and Paul Mooney have a very thought-provoking debate on the use of the infamous “N-Word”. Please feel MORE THAN FREE to express your opinions of the “N-Word” and/or this debate in a text or video comment. But ANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS OR RACIST COMMENTS OR COMMENTS THAT USE THE “ACTUAL N-WORD” WILL BE DELETED ON THE SPOT SO DON’T BOTHER! Thank You! :)

(END COMMENTS)

I posted this video on YouTube so more people could have access to it. I want it to educate all the ignorant people out there who still use the word. I am a proud African-American man who DOES NOT USE THE N-WORD IN ANY WAY. It’s NOT CUTE and it’s NOT FUNNY and it’s NOT COOL! It’s VERY UNNECESSARY and I feel that everyone who uses the N-word in any way should at least understand the word, know that it was created to bring down Africans even MORE than they were back in Slavery days, and more importantly, WHY THE PEOPLE THEMSELVES USE IT when it offends so many people. I mean ask yourself, people! Why do you even use the word?

I also happen to own Hill Harper’s Best-Selling book, “Letters to a Young Brother”. It’s a very good read! :)

I am ALSO voting for Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States of America. Not because he is African-American, but because I believe in his views of the future. KNOW YOUR VOTE, PEOPLE!

  1. Actually when I was …
Actually when I was in N. Carolina, I was stuck in a volunteering gig working at this step-dancing event. There was a speaker that seemed to be racist because he singled out the African American populace with giving them exceptional credit as Americans. I was rather disturbed because that’s advocating a separation. Why couldn’t he give the tribute to ALL Americans into making the country into what it is?

I feel ashamed that we can’t all be on the same team here.

    Exactly, …
Exactly, deliberately separating themselves from the mass but also wanting to be equals.

    whites are …
whites are discriminated as well by minorities, but that’s not racism. in a society where the power structure is white and white supremacy rules the land (economics, politics, morals, religion, culture, looks), it’s impossible to say whites have experienced racism. i’m sure whites have been discriminated upon, but it isn’t racism. the blacks don’t have the power to put the white race down because blacks don’t have the power structure on their side.

  4. The only thing …
The only thing really I have a problem with is the fact that white people are not exposed to racism. I have been called honkey, redneck, craker, white girl all in a bad since. And it hurts. I has sent out of class by a black teacher for a black girl spitting in my face. I did NOTHING to the girl. I personally don’t care who you are what you look like of were you come from, as long as you are good to me I’ll be good to you and treat you with love. but whites are discriminated against too.

  5. Are you for real? …
Are you for real? All other TV channels are owned or most of them are white American owned, I watch the Word network which is black owned. And by the way BET is owned by Viacom a white company, not a black person, it is just a named for programing that is geared towards the African American person and life style.

  6. I agree why is the …
I agree why is the bet channel black entertainment? like thats racism right there

dr phil aint my speed but he’s a good man for this

  13. Yeah said but …
Yeah said but hopefully some people will move forward. Maybe not everyone but some. With Paul Mooney like a lot of older Black Americans he was treated bad in 1950s as a teenager and kid. So its hard for him to let that hatered go. I know other minorities were treated bad especially Native Americans who were in this country first. I am African American too. If you choose to come to the US some of this you have to expect. Main thing is where ever you are treat people with love and kindness.

I hope that was a joke, cause Cleopatra was not black.

  20. mooney is a …
mooney is a hipocrit. he has this victum mentality.

  21. Cheryl Underwood is …
Cheryl Underwood is a Big TIME Republican!

She voted for W.Bush TWICE, H.W.Bush, and is VERY active in the Republican Party.

(Man, why do people post who have no history nor information on who these people are.)

Well, this show was set up more as a comedy than a serious discussion. I think if Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Dr. Cornelius West were guests, this would have been more of a ’serious’ disucssion.

    Interesting…

  22. LOL!!!!

    Surely …
    LOL!!!!

Surely you jest? Hill Harper has a Juris Doctorate from Harvard University Law and an author. He is NOT an intellectual?

    PU-LEASE!

  23. “imma call OJ for …
“imma call OJ for you” LMAO!!!

  24. Why not talk to …
Why not talk to regular ordinary black people? I’m sure Hill Harper has moved far away from the N’s neighborhood.

  25. I like the part …
I like the part where Hill Harper explains that a white company Viacom owns Black Entertainment Television(BET) and Sheryl Underwood says ” watch what you say”. Which means everyone employed by Viacom including Dr. Phil on that set are limited to what they can actually say.
