Does anyone have a sample LD Debate case on death penalty?
A just society ought not use the death penalty as a form of punishment. Neg, please.
Negating this resolution is quite easy, all the negative needs to do is prove in one instance where death is an equitable punishment for the crime committed. Even in a "just" or perfect governmental society.
Now, what you need to do for negating is define "just society" as a perfect governmental society, leaving NO chance for false conviction, therefore, no innocent lives are taken, other than the victims.

If you are looking for arguments in the negative, it will be difficult to use facts about how the system is actually implemented, and whether, given that human beings make mistakes, the flaws could ever be corrected. However, I would look at what retributionists (not the same as revenge) have to say.
Take a look at http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/article.php?did=1917 for specifics on how the death penalty is implemented.
