Iowa debate is …
Iowa debate is legit. IHSSA is a joke, though. While CR Wash was the only school to make it to the TOC last year, there is a strong history of solid debate in Iowa. Luke Allen, of Iowa City, lost in finals at DDI. Iowa plays host to 3 bid tournaments, as well. Graham Tierny (not me), from IC West has 4 bids as of December. We also generally do the majority of our work without coaches, because we don’t have charter schools to allot large sums of money toward worthy resources. texas debate.

STFU, the only time that you’ll really utilize spreading is in national circuit tournaments and TOC. The amount of time put in by those kids at that level on research is equitable to a masters thesis so don’t with the flow.

I wanted to join a …
I wanted to join a debate, but my school did not have one. So i looked into it more just to see if i was actually interested, and to me a “debate team” isnt even debating anymore its just like. “Hey John how many words can you say in a minute?” So at my school im going to create a debate club, it will be a low stressed enviroment, kids can contribute their opinions and there will usually not be a winner, because most debates naturally dont have a winner (if you think of Points of Views)so yeah..
