Why is that Gay Liberals always got to make everthing into a political debate?

First Sean Penn and Now Perez Hilton.Gay people look it’s not always about you and gay marriage.

My question is: Why the hell is he even a judge in the first place?! Kelly Monaco, Kenan Thompson, and Holly Madison were bad enough but Perez Hilton being the judge of anything is beyond ridiculous (and I thought beauty pageants were trying to be taken seriously). Of course Perez Hilton is going to give a question about gay marriage- I knew that before he even opened his mouth. I don’t think Miss California should be criticized for her answer (although I believe it could of been articulated much better).

Anyways, to answer your question, anyone who feels passionately about one certain thing is always trying to start a debate about it because it is the only thing they know how to argue. All Sean Penn knows how to do is be ultra liberal, so he is going to push his liberal opinion on anyone who will listen. Neither man is the brightest crayon in the box so it makes them feel intelligent to push their views on everyone else. They thrive off the fact that people disagree with them. Not only that, they desperately want people to disagree with them in order to gain attention. People who moderately disagree with them (such as Miss California) are going to be slammed at the first chance they get. In my opinion, it’s all about self esteem- they desperately need to be validated.

Isn’t it amazing that they show absolutely no tolerance for an opposing view? The Tolerant liberals? They need to at least see the Irony.

Dylanfox: I am fine with opposing views. It’s America. If Gays want marriage, they are free to fight for it. The process is based on Referendum.

  6. Steele skipping Log Cabin Republican convention.

Later this week, the Log Cabin Republicans are hosting their national convention in Washington, DC, which will feature appearances by former New Jersey governor Christie Todd Whitman, former congressman Tom Davis (R-VA) and Meghan McCain. In her Daily Beast column today, McCain reveals that RNC Chairman Michael Steele was invited to speak, but declined due to scheduling issues:

Former Virginia Congressman Tom Davis, a well-respected Republican lawmaker who has made no bones about his desire to see the GOP move on from its obsession over social issues, is also speaking. I understand that Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele was invited to speak, but was unable to schedule an appearance.

Steele’s absence will be conspicuous considering that the Log Cabin Republicans initially cheered his election to the chairmanship, but issued a stinging rebuke of his claim that it was "crazy" for the GOP to even "consider" civil unions for same-sex couples.

    and

Speaking to an affectionate crowd of Log Cabin Republicans on Saturday evening, Meghan McCain ridiculed the party her father headed this past election, declaring that "old school Republicans" were "scared shitless" of the changing landscape.

The Senator’s daughter, who has quickly become something of an iconic figure in the gay conservative community since the end of the election, took repeated shots at the GOP for its antiquated mores.

"I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes," said McCain. "There are those who think we can win the White House and Congress back by being ‘more’ conservative. Worse, there are those who think we can win by changing nothing at all about what our party has become. They just want to wait for the other side to be perceived as worse than us. I think we’re seeing a war brewing in the Republican Party. But it is not between us and Democrats. It is not between us and liberals. It is between the future and the past."

Later, she called out those officials in the Republican tent who insist that tactical improvements, technology and brass-knuckle politicking are the path back to relevance.

"Simply embracing technology isn’t going to fix our problem," she said. "Republicans using Twitter and Facebook isn’t going to miraculously make people think we’re cool again. Breaking free from obsolete positions and providing real solutions that don’t divide our nation further will. That’s why some in our party are scared. They sense the world around them is changing and they are unable to take the risk to jump free of what’s keeping our party down."

The remarks, delivered at the Log Cabin Republican’s national convention in Washington D.C., drew healthy applause and the occasional high-pitched whistling. McCain, at one point, declared herself a proud member of the GOP. But her pot shots at the Republican Party and its flashier figures were not thinly veiled. Describing her public tiff with Ann Coulter as non-delicate, she went on to refer to the brash conservative talker as "overly partisan and divisive." Later in the speech she insisted that "most of our nation wants our nation to succeed" – a pretty clear dig at the now-infamous remarks of talk radio host Rush Limbaugh.

As for the GOP establishment, McCain described it as a "party that was thriving at one point on a few singular issues" but could no longer "see long-term success."

"We’ve seen how it has contributed to some serious problems in our nation and world," McCain said, in an apparent reference to the government under GOP control. "Let me blunt, you can’t assume you’re electing the right leaders to handle all the problems facing our nation when you make your choice based on one issue. More and more people are finally getting that."

  7. I sometimes feel strongly about something I would debate for and that doesn’t make me gay, liberal , or anything else you can label me as. When you feel strongly about something, you fight for it, at least until you realize that it is either wrong, or something that isn’t going to make a difference. I don’t like protests, period. Debating is endless and solutions are few and far between.

  10. I think the problem is that same-sex marriage is seen as the final societal sign of approval for homosexuals, and that the fact that the American public has clearly rejected it shows that homosexuality will never be fully accepted (as opposed to merely tolerated, which is what the gay groups originally asked for) in our country. It’s almost like the homosexuals asked for too much, and said "if you don’t accept same-sex marriage they you are telling us we’re not normal." And a lot of the public now does question the gay rights movement even more, since in their gut they find something fundamentally wrong with men marrying men and women marrying women.

It’s like the same-sex marriage issue has backfired on the whole movement. And gays are bitter about it.

She spoke her point of view politely and with class – he being a typical liberal was without class.

It’s amazing how people that don’t have the basic rights we all enjoy will seem reactionary, and filled with anger, isn’t it?

You would be the type of person that would have asked, "What are the black people so angry about" in the fifties, and sixties.
