Why was the NH Republican debate only on Fox News?

Considering it was from NH I thought it would be on either our Channel 9, where our local news comes from, or Channel 11 (NH Public Television).

My family doesn’t watch Fox News so we had no idea what the channel number for it even was- in the standard TV guide, our local cable TV channel listings don’t include Fox News. However, I am looking into as many candidates as I can, from both sides, and I was hoping to be able to have the debate taped, to watch later. Surely ABC could have lived with only having one channel running the sitcoms (5), instead of the usual two (5 and 9)?

I find it odd that the debate was so hidden from public view. I have basic cable, so I don’t even have Fox News as an option- a family member with full cable was going to tape the debate for me.

I’m sure others have basic cable as well, and missed the debate because of it.

Can anyone recommend some YouTube links from it, amongst various candidates, so I can get a feeling of what went on?

Fox News sponsored the debate so I doubt that it was even offered to any other network seeing as how Fox thinks they are they only ones who are "fair & balanced"
I think Ron Paul did a great job and didn’t spew the same retoric that all the other candidates did. I think that he was absolutely correct that the Bush machine made a mistake and for the good of the American people they should admit it and make changes to correct it rather than be arrogant and continue to cover it up.
It also wasn’t just his supporters that gave him the "win" with 33% it was everyone who watched and voted.

We don’t want anyone outside the base to see these embarrassing episodes.

  2. Fox News sponsored it.

One thing that happened is Ron Paul looked like a lunatic win an angry screaming match with Huckabee.

McCain looked polished and good. Hackabee did great. Romney, Tancredo & Hunter looked labored in their answers. Rudy only talked about New York City. Brownback wasn’t too bad. (I listened to the "talking heads" afterwards too.

It was funny, they kept mentioning the GOP candidates "and Ron Paul." Paul was so out there it looked really bad. I can’t believe his supporters are saying he won.

  8. Listening to the talking heads afterward is why you think Ron Paul lost the debate, "amnesty sucks". Hannity is a neo-con Bushie and Ron Paul is a classic conservative. They don’t mix well. Ron Paul did win the debate! You know why? Because EVERY other candidate used one of Ron Paul’s views as their own during the debate, that they didn’t use before. EVERY ONE OF THEM. I guess only people schooled in the candidates views would know that. I take it that you aren’t very schooled.

Just search on YouTube there are a ton of videos already up.

  9. It was sponsored by Fox News. Maybe you should have had someone come to your house and tune your TV to the Fox News Channel for you if you were interested in seeing the debate and couldn’t figure it out for yourself. Fox News also offered a debate among the Democrats but they refused because they knew that they couldn’t answer the questions that would have been put to them.

  11. Since all the other broadcast media is under the Clinton umbrella they chose not to carry any Republican debates. Naturally they enjoy putting Hillary everywhere and if She is not available Bill steps in. His image should wise people up because I notice how false he is every time I see him. The idea of the Clinton’s back in the White House is even more repulsive than Pelosi staying in leadership after the 08 election.
